Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 28, 2012

DVR (Digital Video Recorder) technology has not always been compatible with thermal imaging devices. There has been a strong need for a simple DVR device that would interface any thermal imager on the market. The need to record thermal video has become increasingly necessary by the typical user of these thermal imaging devices. This has ignited a race to produce the first fully thermal video compatible device. Due to the nature of the environment typical with law enforcement use of these DVRs it was critical that they also be weather proof and easy to use in the dark. Utilizing new technology the SPI XDVR-XP NANO TECH claims to solve all the problems encountered with standard DVR products.

Our latest DVR is a next generation evolution of the portable DVR concept explained Randall Kolchins, Director SPI Corp. By utilizing proprietary methods and leveraging critical relationships, we have been able to bring to our customers the future of portable, weatherproof DVR technology we have dubbed NANO-TECH. Law Enforcement agents have expressed the need to back up in the field observations with evidentiary footage. In military and law enforcement scenarios there is often the need to perform the mission regardless of weather conditions and shelter for the officers. The SPI-XDVR looks to be a solution to these common problems.

Most thermal imagers output thermal video in a subset of the NTSC protocol known as RS-170, explained Darren Desoto, Technician SPI Corp. This RS-170 format of thermal imagers has always caused problems in todays digital world. Most of the DVRs out there just dont like it. The SPI-XDVR NANO-TECH counters this problem with compatibility for all formats of NTSC thermal imaging video.

We improved on the basic design and continued to refine the system with our trusted OEM partners until we had it just right, commented Mike Bailey. Our relationship with HIROSE connectors was critical in getting the interface just right. HIROSE manufactures interconnect cable connectors for aerospace, defense and industrial applications. Their multi-pin push pull waterproof connectors where just the thing we needed to insure the environmental integrity of the DVR while still maintaining simple connect disconnect capability for our users, Mike Bailey elaborated. When its dark and lives are on the line it just has to be easy to use.

SPI Corp has been in the business of manufacturing and distributing Thermal Imaging Solutions for well over a decade. Existing products include hand held thermal imagers, thermal rifle scopes, DVRs and infrared cameras.

Potential customers interested in learning more about the all weather DVR for thermal imaging or for purchasing options including the entire line of thermal imaging solutions offered by SPI Corp can visit http://www.x20.org. Hollywood, CA / Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

Redrock Micro, the recognized leader in affordable professional-level cinema accessories, announced today the immediate availability of a new family of Redrock-designed follow focus units. The new microFollowFocus family is the third generation offering from Redrock Micro that delivers new levels of performance, a unique back-to-new performance adjustable gearbox, and a range of products that can match any budget or feature needs.

PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL PERFORMANCE FOR A LIFETIME

At the heart of any focusing unit is precision performance. Redrock spent the last three years developing a new original-design unit featuring a completely geared, precision-machined transmission with virtually backlash-free performance. Recognizing that all follow focuses settle over time and are prone to develop play, all new microFollowFocus units include adjustable backlash, which can reset the units performance to like new condition at any time. The new gearbox delivers exceptional professional-level performance for a lifetime.

SPECIAL FEATURES FOR DSLR LENSES

The microFollowFocus | blue solves the issue that many filmmakers face when filming with HDSLR lenses: the focus ring spins freely, making repeatable focus nearly impossible. The microFollowFocus | blue solves this with an ingenious adjustable hard stop mechanism on the follow focus itself, so every lens now has hard stops. Hard stops solve a big limitation of shooting with Canon EF lenses, said Ted Coates, DP and owner of Moving Pictures, Inc. I now have a tool that allows me to shoot with DSLR lenses with a similar level of confidence as traditional video lenses. The new microFollowFocus line offers additional features for DSLR lenses including support for shorter lenses with its flippable gear box, and when paired with microLensGears gives DSLR lenses the ability to achieve accurate, repeatable, precision focus pulling.

CHOOSE THE MICROFOLLOWFOCUS TO FIT YOUR BUDGET AND NEEDS

The microFollowFocus family is available in three different configurations and price points. The microFollowFocus | blue is Redrocks flagship product, with the features and performance for professionals and enthusiasts. The microFollowFocus | blue Studio adds a second side wheel (studio mode) for quickly switching camera sides, and can be added or removed at any time. The microFollowFocus retains the performance and core features of the flagship version at a more economical price.

THE MICROFOLLOWFOCUS ADVANTAGE

The Redrock microFollowFocus family is the only line of follow focus units to deliver all these key advantages:
I’m planning a video of my hamster and I need windows movie maker to blend lots of clips together and also add music. But whenever I select digital camera videos for movie maker, it says it is not a supported file type and such. The rest was a confusing blend of letters and numbers and another sentence I don’t remember. I can use a cam corder if I want, but my digital camera is so much easier, my dad rarely lets me use his camcorder. I can put my digital camera photos on there, but not videos, what do I do?

Australia (Vocus) August 19, 2010

Featuring the world’s first touch-control shooting system, Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-G2 offers a host of new features that expand upon the features of the previous Lumix G1 model. The highlight of this new model is the three-inch free-angle LCD touch-screen that provides an easy-to-use, one-of-a-kind user interface. The screen also features a full time Live View and high-speed contrast auto-focus system.

The Lumix DMC-G2, which resembles a small SLR camera, provides high-quality images in a compact, easy-to-use size with Intelligent Auto. The Lumix G2 maintains the versatility and capability of a point-and-shoot camera that consistently captures quality images without worrying about adjusting aperture and focus. The Lumix DMC-G2, the worlds smallest and lightest system camera, allows photographers of all ability levels to capture quality photographs and HD videos. With the integrated auto-focus system photographers can select a specific point-of-focus by simply touching the screen in the desired location. While in the manual operation mode aperture and shutter speed can be adjusted by simply moving the slider on the screen. In playback mode the touch-screen allows for easy scrolling and quick selection of images.

For users who are eager to learn DSLR systems the Lumix G2 offers an easy platform to bone-up on professional skills by providing manual control of shutter speed, aperture and focus. The Lumix G2 also allows users the ability to use the Lumix G2 as a point-and-shoot style camera, thanks to the Intelligent Auto. Think of the G2 as a DSLR-style camera with training wheels. This is the perfect camera for photography enthusiasts who are looking to improve their ability while still capturing great photographs.

The Lumix G2 offers a great range of features that many have come to expect from Panasonics line of Lumix cameras, including 12.1-megapixel sensor, 1,440,000 pixel resolution, and a brand new processor (the Venus Engine HD II) which improves both video and still images. Panasonic has also ratcheted up the ability of the Lumix G2′s Optical Image Stabilization creating a OIS that absorbs low-level vibrations and eliminates blurriness that results from minute movements and hand-shake.

Although the optically stabilized Lumix G2 14-42mm kit lens is handy and versatile, there are also eight different Panasonic Micro Four Thirds G series lenses for discerning photographers to choose from. The interchangeable lenses allow photographers the ability to adapt the Lumix G2 to specific shooting environments and situations. The twin lens kit is also available with the 45-200mm lens in addition.

Other features include auto-focus (either single point or tracking), and low-light focusing. The HD movie mode provides photographers with the ability to capture both still images and video images. Video images are easy to download to DVDs or Youtube with the software provided. For the discerning videographer the G2 provides 17 different movie scene movies, and shoots at 30fps. Like many digital cameras and other devices the G2 utilizes SD cards as well as the newer SDHC and SDXC varieties.

The G2 provides a versatile DSLR type camera with a broad range of abilities and features. The unique touch-screen provides an additional layer of easy-to-use interface that allows photographers of all levels to take great videos and pictures in a variety of environments. The camera body comes in 3 different colors. The Lumix G series is ideal for budding photographers who want to capture high-quality shots without having to learn the ins-and-outs of a complex camera system but also for the discerning photographer who needs a quality camera that is versatile and compact.

Question by : What is the best slr digital camera at an affordable price?
Im interested in buying a slr camera but not sure which is the best buy? What brand is the best…nikon, cannon, sony? I would mostly be using it to take pictures of my sons so im looking for one thats a reasonable price. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Best answer:

Answer by Kevin K
I shoot Nikon.

The best Nikon going is the D90, for price to features. The D5000 has the same sensor, but not as many options. The D90 is around 750.00, body only. The New D7000 just came out, so the price on the D90 will probably be dropping. Wait a bit, and look for a deal on it.

Canon and Sony have the same quality as Nikon. See what you like, and what feels better.

Available in four timeless designs, the Billingham camera bags from John Lewis combine high quality and fantastic attention to detail. Designed and made in the West Midlands, a Billingham camera bag is intended to last a lifetime and if you experience any problems it can be sent back for repair.

Miranda Mahler, buyer for accessories at John Lewis says, Offering great design and craftsmanship, a Billingham bag will protect a camera whilst adding style to any outfit.

The family run company was formed in 1973, originally manufacturing fishing bags. However in 1978, Martin Billingham (a keen photographer) discovered that the fishing bags were being used by New York photographers so started to produce camera bags; within a year almost all production had switched to camera bags.

Question by Frank: What is the best 35 mm SLR camera to use for a photography student?
I’m a photography student and I’m having trouble on deciding what kind of 35 mm SLR camera to purchase. I’m looking for something less than $ 500. Also, is it better for me to use a newer model like the Canon
EOS Elan 7NE or an older model, where everything is completely manual? Also I was wondering if there were any camera models out there with both features as well?

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
The Elan is a fine camera.

You can find good Nikon and Canon 35 mm SLR cameras with a standard zoom lens for under $ 150 on craigslist. Any 35 mm SLR can be used manually, so don’t worry if the body you buy also has auto focus available
